ARTIST STATEMENT
Jamie Lipovac’s work is reflexive, with painted gestures and snippets of color presenting a world that conflates the past with the present. Each artwork tells a constructed story of time and place that questions the traditions the work is built upon. Each piece opens new avenues to reflect on who is the intended viewer, creating an active relationship between the audience and the artwork’s protagonists.
